About this app

Make every email Zendesk sends look like your brand, without writing HTML. Lettercrest is a visual editor for your Zendesk email template: pick a layout, add your logo, set colours and fonts, and see the result on desktop and phone with a real-looking message in it. It checks the placeholders Zendesk needs, applies the template straight to your account, and keeps every version so you can roll back in one click.

Lettercrest is built by Great Work LLC. It is not made or endorsed by Zendesk.

Design it visually

  • Start from a layout (Classic, Card or Banner) and change anything: colours, font, text size, width, padding, corners and border.
  • Blocks above and below the message: logo, banner, text, button, links, divider, footer line or your own HTML.
  • Your logo in one click, read from each of your Zendesk brands.
  • Prefer code? Edit the HTML directly with the same preview, checks and history.

A design for each brand

  • Zendesk keeps one email template per account. Lettercrest lets you design one look per brand (logo, colours, header and footer) and folds them into that one template, so each email goes out in the design of its ticket's brand.
  • Help center notifications fall back to your default design.

See it before your customers do

  • Live preview with a sample ticket update filled into {{content}}.
  • Desktop and phone, per brand and per audience. Layouts are built for mail apps.
  • Plain-text version with its own preview, for readers who turn HTML off.

Checks before anything goes live

  • Lettercrest refuses to apply a template without {{content}}, with it twice, or without {{delimiter}} when your account uses the reply delimiter.
  • It flags what mail apps break: missing {{styles}}, unclosed tags and Liquid, images without alt text, external stylesheets and templates large enough for Gmail to clip.

Every version, one-click rollback

  • Before the first change, the template that was live is saved, so you can always go back to exactly what you had.

  • Every applied version is kept in your Zendesk account with who applied it, when and why. Compare any version with the live one, or roll back in one click.
  • If someone changes the template elsewhere while you edit, Lettercrest stops and asks before replacing their change, and saves it as a version first.

Plan (billed monthly by Zendesk, per Zendesk account)

Standard: $79 a month per Zendesk account. Every feature is included: visual editor, code editor, a design per brand, preview, checks, version history and rollback. 14-day trial; Zendesk asks for a card at install and billing starts when the trial ends unless you uninstall. No free plan.

Requirements: version history uses a custom object, so Lettercrest needs a Zendesk Suite plan (any) or Support Enterprise. Designs per brand need more than one brand. Zendesk turns template editing off on trial accounts and some others; Lettercrest tells you if yours is one of them.

Your data

Lettercrest runs entirely in your browser inside Zendesk. There is no Great Work server, no account to create and no API token to paste. Every call is made as the signed-in admin, with their permissions, to your own Zendesk account. Lettercrest reads and writes your email templates and reads your brand names and logos; it never reads tickets or customer records (the preview uses a made-up message). Versions are records of a "Lettercrest version" object in your own Zendesk account. Nothing is sent to Great Work or anyone else (not even usage statistics), nothing is kept outside Zendesk, nothing runs in the background and no AI is used.

App 詳情

如何安裝

  1. Install Lettercrest from the Zendesk Marketplace and choose the Standard plan ($79 a month per Zendesk account). The 14-day trial starts now; Zendesk asks for a card and starts billing when the trial ends unless you uninstall.

  2. Under Role restrictions, limit the app to admins (or custom roles with the "Manage extensions and channels" permission). Others can open it, but Zendesk refuses their changes.
  3. Optional setting: Versions to keep, default 100. History offers to delete older versions beyond this number; the live template is always kept and nothing is deleted until an admin clicks Delete.
  4. Click the Lettercrest icon in the left navigation bar. Your current email template opens as it is. Start a visual design from a layout (or keep editing the HTML), check the preview on desktop and phone, and click Apply to Zendesk.

At install Lettercrest creates one custom object, "Lettercrest version", where it keeps every version of your email templates. This needs custom objects in your plan (any Zendesk Suite plan, or Support Enterprise). The first time you apply, the template that was live before is saved as version 1. If you uninstall, your email template stays exactly as it is, and Zendesk keeps the object and its records so a reinstall still has your history; an admin can delete the object in Admin Center (Objects and rules > Custom objects) to remove them.
