About this app

Whowell sends your customer a one-time Persona or Onfido identity verification link from the ticket, then shows pass or fail on the ticket, before you reset a login, change a payout account or hand over ownership. Because "it's me, I just lost my phone" is also what the other guy writes.

Send a verification link from the ticket
- Pick one of your flows (a Persona inquiry template or an Onfido workflow) and Whowell puts a one-time link in your reply, with your own wording.
- The link expires when you choose (24 hours by default). Persona links work once.
- The customer verifies on Persona's or Onfido's own page: document, selfie, database check, whatever your flow asks for.

See the result where you work
- Status on the ticket: link sent, in progress, completed, approved, declined, needs review, failed or expired. Checked each time the ticket opens, and on Refresh.
- Each result is written once as an internal note: the vendor, the flow, the checks that ran with passed or failed, the vendor's reason codes and a link to the inquiry in Persona or the run in Onfido.
- Tags for triggers and views: whowellpending, whowellapproved, whowelldeclined, whowellreview, whowellfailed, whowellexpired.
- An approval sets the customer's "Whowell: identity verified on" date, so triggers and views can tell who was verified and when.

Resend, cancel and permissions
- Link expired or lost? Send a new one: Persona reopens the same inquiry, Onfido starts a new run for the same applicant.
- Cancel a Persona link you sent by mistake; it stops working at once.
- Admins choose who sees verifications and who may send links: all agents, admins, custom roles or groups.

What stays out of Zendesk
- No document images, selfies, ID numbers, dates of birth or addresses are copied into Zendesk. Whowell asks Persona only for statuses and check names, and drops anything else a vendor answer carries before it's shown.
- On the ticket Whowell keeps only the inquiry or run id, the flow, the status, who sent it and when the link expires, in a hidden ticket field. The link itself goes only into your reply, never into a note.
- Persona gets a reference to the Zendesk user (zendesk-user-123), no name or email. Onfido needs a first and last name to create an applicant, so it gets the requester's Zendesk name, and their email only if you turn that on.

What it doesn't do
- It doesn't replace your Persona or Onfido account: you need one, with an inquiry template or a Studio workflow ready, and verification fees are billed by them.
- Sumsub, Veriff and Jumio aren't supported.
- It doesn't download documents or photos, and has no export.
- An Onfido link can't be cancelled from Zendesk; a new link replaces it in the sidebar and the old one stops at its expiry.

Pricing
$129 per account per month, one plan with every feature, however many agents you have. 14-day free trial, card required, billed by Zendesk.

Your keys
Your Persona API key and Onfido API token are Zendesk secure settings: agents never see them, and Zendesk only sends them to api.withpersona.com and to your Onfido region's API. Persona keys can be limited to inquiry.read, inquiry.write and verification.read; the setup guide shows how.

Not made or endorsed by Persona, Onfido, Entrust or Zendesk. Persona and Onfido are trademarks of their owners.

如何安裝

  1. Persona: in the Persona Dashboard, open API > API Keys and create a key for Zendesk (for example "Zendesk Whowell") with only these permissions: inquiry.read, inquiry.write and verification.read (check names; leave it off and notes link to Persona instead). If your plan allows it, restrict the key to the inquiry templates you'll use from Zendesk. Copy each template's id (itmpl_...) from Inquiries > Templates.

  2. Onfido: in the Onfido (Entrust) Dashboard, open Developers > API authentication > Tokens and generate a token for Zendesk. Note its region: EU tokens start apilive., US tokens apiliveus., Canada tokens apilive_ca. Copy the id of a Studio workflow that collects what it needs from the customer (no custom input data). Onfido tokens can't be limited, so use a token that's only for Zendesk and revoke it if you uninstall.
  3. Install Whowell from the Zendesk Marketplace and start the 14-day trial ($129 per account per month after it, card required).

  4. In Verification flows, write one line per flow: the vendor, the template or workflow id, and the name agents pick, for example "persona itmpl_abc123 Account recovery" or "onfido 6c1e2f0a-1b2c-4d3e-8f90-1234567890ab Payout change".

  5. Paste the Persona API key and the Onfido API token. They're Zendesk secure settings: agents never see them, and Zendesk only sends them to Persona and Onfido. Set the Onfido region (eu, us or ca).

  6. Choose who sees verifications and who may send links (default: all agents), how many hours a link works (default 24) and the reply text ({link}, {hours} and {name} are filled in).

  7. Open a ticket, pick a flow in the Whowell sidebar and send a link. The setup guide at greatwork.company/apps/whowell/docs has troubleshooting.

At install Whowell creates a hidden ticket field, "Whowell: verifications (managed by the app)", and a date user field, "Whowell: identity verified on". Uninstalling removes both; the whowell_* tags and the internal notes stay on past tickets.
